Start Potty Training is the name of a new program for parents who, as you can probably figure out from the title, want to potty train their kids.
I was interested in learning more about potty training because I have a 6 month old, and while that is a bit young to try potty training, I want to get started as early as possible! It’s crazy how long some people are letting there kids go these days before getting them potty trained, and I REFUSE to be one of these parents who waits till the last minute, and has their kids in “pull up” diapers.
My philosophy is that once a child is old enough to articulate and tell me “Mommy I pooped” they should be going in a potty not a diaper, but I digress.
Anyhow, Carol Cline is the new hot “Potty Training Guru” (if there is such a thing, and I wanted to check out her system because everything else I’ve seen looks really out of date and just plain wrong… And I had heard that Cline’s system is supposed to be the quickest and easiest system around.
Basically, what you get is a 3 day step-by-step process for getting your little angel fully potty trained, so that when they need to go, they go to the potty… Instead of having a “whoopsy” that you need to clean up…
The thing I liked most about this program is that it’s all based around making potty training a really positive experience for your little one so that they feel good about themselves and there potty training accomplishment. To that end Cline has even included some really attractive reward charts and certificates that you can use as fun motivational tools.
As I mentioned, I had also looked at some other books on potty training, but by comparison Start Potty Training is just miles ahead. It gives you a complete solution that supposedly has a 97%+ success rate (details here).
That’s 97% or more moms have there kids fully trained to go potty in 3 days… So that’s impressive.

Okay, here’s the thing…
I know that a lot of people may think that you can just put your kid on the potty and that he or she will somehow train themselves… Nope, it doesn’t work like that. My sister tried that and my nephew is STILL all messed up, I won’t get into it, but it’s not pretty (he’s 5 now).
So, I’d definitely recommend being proactive about this as it will help you avoid cleaning up a lot of messes AND save you a TON on diapers… Defitely good for the bottom line if you’ll pardon my pun 🙂
